Deciding to take your LGV licence is a big step and takes huge commitment and trainees need to make sure they pick the right driving school for the job. One customer we had in particular found our managed process from start to finish a much easier route to obtaining his LGV licence. With no industry knowledge he was grateful of the service as a lot of the other training schools he contacted didn’t complete provisional entitlement paperwork, medical or book theory tests.
Jay started his LGV journey with a medical at our facility and during his induction we completed his provisional entitlement paperwork for his LGV licence and provided him with revision material for his LGV theory tests. Once Jay received his licence back from DVLA with the provisional entitlement on it, we were able to book his theory tests on his behalf straight away. Knowing which tests candidates need to sit is sometimes confusing; generally trainees who book their own theory tests and then contact us for practical training haven’t always sat the correct tests, causing a delay in practical training and additional test costs.
Jay was initially booked in with us to do his C1 course but during his assessment drive and after a discussion with our instructor we decided that it would be more cost effective for him to do his CAT C licence because of the types of vehicles he would eventually be looking to drive, saving him around £600! The managed process offered by TAL is designed to understand individual requirements, helping us meet the needs of each trainee so that we can give them the best advice about the right courses for them.
